Your Table Is Ready

Ah, the wonderful aroma of Fruity Pebbles wafting through the air in the morning!  It was a short night for some, but all arose with a generally happy outlook... today we find out about our small groups! A short walk to Anderson Auditorium to stand in line was just the ticket for waking up the groggy.  Not time for sleeping now!  It's time for "energizers" and singing!

The keynote presentation today was focused on the theme: "Your Table Is Ready."  An imaginative combination of video, live drama and oral presentation made for a thought provoking morning.  We broke into small groups afterwards and then on to lunch at the Assembly Inn.

We have eaten our meals in years past at the Glen Rock Inn, but the inn no longer serves meals.  This is a year to adjust our expectations... and the Assembly Inn Dining Room has already exceeded ours!  Our first meal was great... ham sandwiches, fresh fruit medley, salad bar, chicken strips, fresh cobbler (peach and strawberry) topped with ice cream.  Mmmmm!

What's supper going to be like?

Supper was great... pork chops and fish... take your pick.  The rolls were especially memorable.  Plenty of nourishment to sustain us for the evening's activities.  

Worship was incredible!  Herb Nelson, from Memphis, TN, did a superb job of preaching.  This year's Monday worship included communion.  Since the theme is focused on the "Table," it was appropriate to start the week's worship at the Lord's Table.  We will conclude the week there as well.  It should male for a meaningful "bracketing" of this week's experience.
