We
all arrive safely today. It's almost as if we never left! It's going
to be a good week.
After unloading and "settling in" to the Jordan Place, we headed to
town for supper. The consensus choice this year was Kentucky Fried, with a
significant minority reporting from McDonald's.
After
supper we took a brief foray into the local Ingle's supermarket for
supplies. We spilt up into "acquisition teams" to save
time. There were SIX full shopping carts filled with only the
"bare necessities" (breakfast goodies, chips, drinks, cookies and
other snacks). If the food at the Glen Rock is not up to par, then we'll
still be able to survive!
The opening session in Anderson Auditorium introduced this year's theme: With
These Hands. We look forward to exploring its meaning.
The winner of the first email award goes to Mary Ellen Auten of FPC-Mooresville.
When we checked messages tonight, she got the first one. No doubt others
will follow.
We'll plan to include pictures of all the participants again this year...
except for the ones we lost on the way up the mountain (just kidding!). As
we get the mug shots we'll post them.
